Russian-Laotian Intergovernmental commission on trade-and-economic and scientific-and-technical cooperation held its meeting in September 2005 in Vientiane, Laos.

The Russian delegation headed by Vyacheslav A. Fetisov - Chief of the Federal Agency on Physical Culture and Sports included both statesmen, among them high-ranking officials of the Ministry of International Affairs, Department of Foreign Economic Relations of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of the Russian Federation, Defence Industry Department of the Ministry of Industry and Energy of the Russian Federation, and representatives of the leading branches of the Russian business, among them - management of "MK-SP Ltd.", JSC "Vneshtorgbank", JSC "Ural Cars and Motors", JSC "Power Machines" and others.

From the Laotian Party headed by His Excellency Somsavat Lengsavat - Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Laos the meeting was attended by the managers of the Department of Foreign Economic Cooperation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Laos, Department of Foreign Financial Relations of the Ministry of Finance of Laos, Department of the Foreign trade of the Ministry of Trade of Laos and by Laotian businessmen.

The parties discussed the progress of the Russian-Laotian trade-and-economic and scientific-and-technical cooperation in 2004-2005 as well as measures aimed at the development of bilateral cooperation.
