The solemn session dedicated to the 50-th Anniversary of the Russian
Peace Foundation, successor of the Soviet Peace Fund held in Moscow at the
Hall of Columns on June 16,2011.
Nowdays the Russian Peace Foundation has offices in 56 regions of Russian
Federation and hundreds thousands of russians
involves in Foundation's activities. The main activities of the Russian
Peace Fund are to promote peace and friendship among peoples and countries,
promote international cooperation in any fields (RPF has thousands of links
with international NGOs), the implementation of various russian humanitarian
and philanthropic programs and many other areas.
"MK-SP" and the Society of Russian-Lao Friendship also activly
cooperates with Russian Peace Fund in various spheares.
At the beginning of the meeting were made public congratulations of
President of Russia Dmitry Medvedev, Prime-minister Vladimir Putin, the
Russian State Duma Chairman Boris Gryzlov and acting Chairman of the Council
of Federation A. Torshin
presented silver medal of the Federation Council to RPF Chaiman of Board,
Deputy of the State Duma L.Slutsky. Happy anniversary RPF also congratulated
the United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon and UNESCO Director-General
Irina Bokova. The solemn session was also attended by His Holiness Patriarch
of Moscow and all Russia,Kirill.
The official part ended charity concert of Youth Symphony Orchestra of
Russia to them L.Nikolaev "Music for children's hearts".
